Junior Board Members
Youth board and advocates are essential for a number of reasons. Firstly, young people are often underrepresented in decision-making processes, particularly in politics. This means that their voices and needs are not adequately heard, even though they are the ones who will be most affected by the decisions made.
CHICK Therapy's junior board members provide a platform for young individuals to contribute their unique perspectives and ideas to the organization. Junior board members bring a fresh energy and enthusiasm to the organization, infusing it with the latest trends and innovations. They also serve as a bridge between the organization and the younger demographic, helping to attract and engage a new generation of supporters and volunteers.
By involving junior board members, CHICK Therapy ensures that its mission and programs remain relevant and appealing to a diverse range of individuals, ultimately helping the organization to grow and thrive in the long run.
Moreover, it encourages young people to take an active role in shaping their own future. Finally, a youth board and advocates help to protect the rights and needs of young people. They can ensure that policies and decisions are made with the interests of young people in mind, and that they are not overlooked. This is particularly important in areas such as education, health, and social welfare, where young people may have different needs and perspectives than adults.
Overall, a youth board and advocates are essential for ensuring that young people have a voice, are engaged in decision-making, and are protected from disadvantage and marginalization.

Advocacy
Advocacy/self-empowerment
1. Promoting empowerment: Advocating for self-advocacy by young people promotes empowerment among them. When young people are encouraged to speak up for themselves, they feel a sense of control and mastery over their lives. This can lead to a greater sense of self-esteem and self-confidence, which can be invaluable in their future endeavors.
2. Enhancing decision-making abilities: Through self-advocacy, young people learn to make informed decisions on their own, which ultimately prepares them to take on additional responsibilities and to be self-sufficient.
3. Fostering independence: Advocating for self-advocacy promotes independence among young people. They learn to take responsibility for themselves and make decisions that will positively impact their lives.
4. Building resilience: Youth advocacy for self-empowerment can create a sense of personal resilience, particularly in the face of challenges and obstacles. This is a skill that is essential in all areas of life, and one that will serve young people well in their future endeavors.
5. Promoting social change: Youth advocacy for self-empowerment is an opportunity to initiate social change, particularly in the areas of equality and social justice. When young people are empowered to advocate for themselves, they can identify and challenge social norms and expectations that limit their potential. Through advocacy efforts, young people can help to create a more just society in which everyone has equal opportunity to thrive.
